Merrickville Travel Guide
Welcome to Merrickville!
This WorldWeb.com travel and tourism guide for Merrickville, featuring hotels, and other accommodations, events, shopping, restaurants, tours, attractions and more, will help you plan a successful visit to Merrickville, Ontario, Canada.
With more designated heritage buildings than any other Ontario community similarly sized, Merrickville is a clear window into the past. The Victorian era is alive and near on streets bordered by stone buildings all to be enjoyed from the patio of one of the many local restaurants, including several British pubs. The Rideau Canal runs through this historic town and is itself deeply intertwined with the history of the country and region. However, now that its economic role has waned with the advent of highways, the canal's waters have been usurped by water enthusiasts looking to meander through the countryside in a canoe or kayak. During the summer, festivals enliven Merrickville's streets with art, crafts, antiques and a centuries-old agriculture fair which maintains the local agricultural traditions stemming back to the 1700s.
Tourist Attractions
